Hi my name is Cherie Lowe and I have an alter ego. I think everyone should. I’ve long been addicted to getting something for nothing. In August of 2008, I adopted the alter ego, the Queen of Free – to share freebies, strategies for everyday saving, & inspiration for those pursuing a debt free life. From 2008-2012, I shared our family’s personal “debt slaying journey.” The Royal Family paid off a whopping $127,482.30 (go ahead & rub your eyes, but you read it correctly) & are now officially debt free. In fact, Sallie Mae owes us $0.32 & we’re still a little bitter. I weekly appear on WTHR (Indianapolis NBC affiliate) & our story has been featured in the national publications The Wall Street Journal & All You Magazine. We’ve also been blessed to appear on noted websites like Yahoo Finance, Yahoo Shine, Babble, Family Circle, DaveRamsey.com & more. I regularly blog at DoingIndy with ways to save when you visit the Circle City. I <3 people who Visit Indy. My husband Brian – the King of Free – and I have a passion for sharing how finances & marriage can intersect in harmony & beauty. Through speaking & written word, more than anything, I long for others to realize there is HOPE for their finances.
